The Water Production Branch, led by Senior Assistant Director Dannelle H. Belhateche, P.E., produces Houston 's drinking water and operates the water pumping system, delivering high-quality water with sufficient pressure to meet our customers' needs.
A total of four surface water treatment plants, with one more under construction, and 99 ground water pumping stations (202 wells) are a part of this operation, making it one of the most complex water systems in the country.
The Water Quality Section monitors the quality of our drinking water --assuring that it meets Safe Drinking Water Act requirements --and works with customers to resolve any concerns.
