Water Festival Information
Please join us at the 15th annual City of Houston WaterFest Thursday, May 8, 2008 from 10 am to 2 pm at the Downtown Aquarium, 410 Bagby Street. The festival site is steps away from the original Houston Water Works Company building that opened on the banks of Buffalo Bayou in 1879 to pump drinking water to Houston homes and businesses. The building now contains the Aquarium’s huge shark tank.
Hands-on activities and educational materials will be provided by 50 government agencies and environmental organizations. Students will enjoy a performance by Radio Disney dancers and learn about the environment with the WaterFest Scavenger Hunt sheet.
