Service and Information

The City of Houston provides water and sewer service to those areas inside or close to its corporate limits. A few areas inside the City have their own private water districts, and some apartment or townhome associations bill their residents to cover their costs. These are not City of Houston customers, nor are the residents of Pasadena, Friendswood, Cinco Ranch, Katy, Humble, or other major suburbs. Utility Customer Service is responsible for the interaction between the utility customer and The City of Houston. We handle service issues regarding your water and wastewater bill as well as billing for the Solid Waste Add-a-Can program. to Order a second garbage can, or for all other questions or services, contact the city's 311 assistance line.
