CURRENT CODE AMENDMENTS

 

The Houston Amendments to the currently adopted codes are listed below. The amendments, along with the model codes, constitute the City of Houston codes. Note: The City of Houston does not have the model codes available. They must be purchased separately.

Important Information: The City of Houston is currently reviewing the entire series of 2006 construction codes for local amendments. These include the 2006 IBC, 2006 UMC, 2006 UPC, 2006 IFC and 2006 IRC. We expect to complete the code review by the end of this year and submit the 2006 code package to City Council. Typically, the codes take effect within 60 days after they are adopted.

ADDITIONAL CODE CHANGES & ERRATAS

Additional adopted code changes are sometimes necessary after the original adoption. The documents are supplemental to the above listed codes and are in effect. Please note that these changes may have been incorporated in later printings.
