The
Engineering Services Section reviews and approves development plans
for the city's infrastructure and in the city's Extra
Territorial Jurisdiction (ETJ) to ensure the proper
design and construction of water, wastewater and storm sewer utilities.
This section also oversees the city's ordinance that regulates open
cutting of the city's asphalt and concrete
streets by managing the review and approval of plans, processing of
construction permits and issuing of street cut permits. The section
also inspects the work to ensure that the integrity
of the streets is maintained.
The section also processes permits for driveways, alley entrances and
culverts. Additionally the section manages the Texas Pollution Discharge
Elimination System (TPDES) permit and inspection process by reviewing
drawings,
permitting projects requiring storm water quality controls as required
by the Texas Commission on Environmental
Quality (TCEQ).
